Hello!
I'm User Y2kbug alias Andreas.
My systems – in use:
- Apple Power Mac G4 “Cube”[1][2] – upgraded with PowerPC 7410 processor card (from a Power Mac G4 “Digital Audio” 533) running at 500 MHz
- the “Cube” has no internal audio
 - usb-audio: Griffin iMic USB audio system (077d:07af)

 - Self-made midi tower:
- Mainboard: MSI 890FXA-GD70, Realtek ALC889 audio, Azalia 1.0 compliant

My systems – working and available, but not in use:
- Apple Power Mac G4 “Quicksilver” (2001)[3][4] – upgraded to be a Dual 800 MHz
- PowerMac: Texas Instruments TAS3001C

 - Apple Power Mac G5 (2003)[5][6] – Dual 2 GHz
 - Apple Power Mac G5 “Late 2005”[7][8] – Dual-core 2 GHz
- Apple Onboard Audio: Burr Brown PCM3052 “Onyx” (analog in- & output, S/PDIF digital output) and Crystal Semiconductor CS84xx “Topaz” (S/PDIF digital input)

My systems – in use, but lent far away:
- IBM Thinkpad R51 1830-DG4
 - Apple Power Mac G4 “Mirrored Drive Doors”[9][10] – upgraded to be a Dual 1.42 GHz
- Apple Onboard Audio: Texas Instruments TAS3004 works since ALSA 1.0.19 and Linux Kernel 2.6.30 (bug #2448 fixed thanks to Johannes Berg).

Some useful resources:
- ALSA User Info, a good place to start
 - The unofficial ALSA Wiki, a good resource for ALSA users
 - Gentoo Linux ALSA Guide – now you know which GNU/Linux distro I'm using :-)
 - The asoundrc configuration file
