I think, if there was some support for this, it would be a good idea.
I have 2 sound cards in my system, and others lying around. The idea
of multitrack recording is appealing. 

I do alot of tracking in DOS.. (still waiting on a decent tracker for
linux) and sampling/editing etc in windows. The more tools and
abilities ALSA has, is better in the long run. Things are already
lookin good :)
