Very interesting!

Still, I wonder if this will only be suitable for non-professional use,
because doing this conversion and sample-skipping without introducing
audible distortion would probably not be trivial.

But then, if you were doing professional work, you wouldn't be trying to
synchronize two $50 soundcards anyway, so who cares! This could be handy
for the rest of us.
