Hi All,

I have been trying to get the ALSA drivers to work for over a week now, but it
just doesn't work!
I have a GUS Extreme (Gravis Ultrasound) and I'm using the SuSE 5.3
distribution.

configuration works fine
installing works fine
But I have to do modifications to /etc/conf.modules and I just don't know how to
do it (for GUS extreme)

modprobe snd-gusextreme works fine, and if I check /proc/interrupts, I see dat
some drivers are using IRQ 5 and 11.

But I just can't play any sounds. Everything ends with a 'no such device'
message. In addition: IRQ 5 is also used by my modem (not configured yet) so I
would like to have te ESS chip on another IRQ (preferred 7). How?

Can anybody help me out? I'm pretty new to this thing...

Thanks in advance,
