did you run the make devices script?  i think it's called snddevices, but
i'm not sure...may have to post tomorrow when i'm a bit more sober... : ^ )

i am running the AudioPCI card (es1370), and have not had any problems
except when it installed my modules to /lib/modules/2.0.36 instead of
/lib/modules/2.0.36/misc...
