There is an extremely sophisticated multitrack program for Linux
called 'SLab'. I just tried the URL that I have for it, and the
link seems to be dead. I still have the tarball however, and I
have made it available from my server:

The program doesn't seem to be supported anymore, and I think that
it may have some rough edges in memory management, and it might crash
every once in a great while, but it is *very* useable at its current
state. It has:

	*) Up to 64 tracks.
*) Ability to handle multiple soundcards
*) Great mixer board look and feel with all controls
 	   visible and operable during play/record
*) Advanced effects send busses (16) with effects API

It is the cat's meow.
