I presumed that alsactl "store" would save the current card
configuration, but it seems to want you to have an already existing
config file. Where should that file come from?

  $ /usr/sbin/alsactl -f tmp.file store CARD_1
  alsactl: Cannot open configuration file 'tmp.file'...
  $ touch tmp.file
  $ /usr/sbin/alsactl -f tmp.file store CARD_1
  alsactl: Error in configuration file 'tmp.file' (line 1): parse error

Thanks
