Why not use FTPmail (ftpmail@ftp.sunet.se) for sites like these? Just send
a message like the following to ftpmail@ftp.sunet.se:

open alsa.jcu.cz
cd [some directory]
get [some file]
ls -ltra [get the current directory listing]
exit [at the end...]

If people are interested in more complete help instructions: let me
know...
