No, AlsaPlayer isn't on official FTP site... You are wrong...
Use precompiled binaries, if you have trouble. For other details look
to alsa-devel mailing list archive. Andy sends some info about AlsaPlayer
to this list.

??? ALSA code is under GPL. Nobody will assure functionality for soundcards.
Code may simply work or not. I'm working on ALSA in my free time only..
