I never got that message.  Have you disabled the OSS support in your
kernel?  I made a custom kernal that completed disabled sound support
before I even tried using ALSA.

Otherwise, beats me.

I was able to find all my settings in various places in NT.  I then ran
the isapnptools to probe the settings on my chip.  I found the settings
I got from NT to be a *subset* of the settings returned by the isapnptools.
Therefore, I just used the same settings I had in NT.

BTW, I also get the same IRQ/MPU401 error.  Not sure how to make it go away,
but I'm not to concerned as the chip works fine for what I'm doing.

Try what I did above.  I got it from NT, and then found the same values
when I probed in Linux.
