ok, i'm a heck of a lot closer than i used to be, THANK YOU!!!  but, when i
try to load (via alsasound [i'm in RH5.2]), i get the following errors:

Starting sound driver: snd-audiopci /lib/modules/2.0.36/misc/snd.o:
init_module: Device or resource busy
snd: No such file or directory
snd: No such file or directory
snd-mixer: No such file or directory
done
ERROR: alsactl not found


what does this mean?  i think it *may* have something to do w/ me having
OSS/Linux installed at one point in time, but the stupid rpm didn't
uninstall correctly, but i'm not sure...  ideas?
