Hello all.
I have just bought a Creative PCI 128.
I have tried to make it work very hard under alsa 0.20-pre 10
without success (yes, I've read the instructions and done everything).
I am unable to make it work also under 95 (well, work....)
Then I decided to try OSS Sound.
At this point I started wondering about hardware.

This is the syslog after I tried to play a wav file under OSS:

...
Nov 13 00:16:01 uno kernel: AudioPCI: Looks like bus mastering is not working
Nov 13 00:16:02 uno kernel: AudioPCI: Output timed out.
Nov 13 00:16:02 uno kernel: AudioPCI: Looks like bus mastering is not working
Nov 13 00:16:02 uno kernel: AudioPCI: Output timed out.
Nov 13 00:16:02 uno kernel: AudioPCI: Looks like bus mastering is not working
...

and so on. NOW it seems hardware, as everything has been recognised BUT no soud
yet. Actually I have tried 2 IRQs, and never had a single request performed.
Is the card broken ? If so, how comes it's been recognised ?

THe mb is an Asus sp-97v (SiS 5598 chipset), 128M, all 4 PCIs are occupied.
K6-300, MAtrox Mill II 8 megs ,SCSI Asus 875, network NE2000 PCI, no ISA now.

If needed I will post all the relevant configuration files, but they seem OK as
I had no complaints with any program used (aplay, alsamixer, etc)

And yes, the mixer IS NOT muted.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thank you
Nicola Fabiano
