Would itn ot make more sense to allow the user to specify at compile
time which soundcard(s) s/he needs drivers for? Speaking only for
myself, I find it to be somewhat wasteful of both time and disk-space
to have to compile /all/ the drivers, like GUS, AudioPCI, et. al. when
all I need is the CS4236+ driver. Now, I do understand that the way the
system works there are several common drivers, but I still think it
should be possible to modify it to allow compilation of only the
necessary soundcard specific modules.

This is just an idea I had that might improve an already great system,
if it can't/won't work I'll understand.

(I know, I know "code it yourself", right? well, if I could I probably
would ;)
