Ooops,

Never mind that last message I sent, my /dev/sndstat does not have any
timers either when I do not load the sb16 drive along side the es1371
driver.  It looks like yours, except 1370 is 1371. 

Sorry about that.

So you should be all set, check and see if you got /proc/asound, poke
around in there, and then unmute some of the channels and see if it makes
noise.  I bet it will.
