  Ok, I know the ALSA /proc structure did change with some revision of the
driver, but if you are using the current release (0.2.0-pre8 is what I have)
then you should have those devices if the module is being installed
correctly.  They are not physical directories on your disk and are created
by the alsa driver in the /proc file system.
  If you could post the changes you made to your conf.modules, someone may
be able to help you, because I imagine that is where your problem lies. I
don't have an Audio PCI, so perhaps someone else can who does can post their
configuration again.
