Hi!

I'm new to the list, and I've checked the archives but haven't seen any
references to this (except when MIDI is concerned).

I used to have an older version of of the alsa drivers, back when the project
was called "The Linux Ultrasound project". I used xgmod/gmod for playing
MOD/S3M/etc files and it worked great... I later upgraded to the newer
versions, after the ALSA name change. Currently, I have 0.1.3 (at least that's
the lasted on mentioned in CHANGELOG). I also have very little HD space left at
the moment, so I'm asking before upgrading etc to see if it works.

xgmod (and mod, and presumably other applications) use /dev/sequencer when
playing modules. Since I upgraded, xgmod/mod complain about not being able to
open /dev/sequencer. And well, do I need to do anything special to get it to
work? I figure the support is in there somewhere, since it worked with the
older version of the driver.

I'm on Linux 2.0.30, using a GUS MAX. And if the questions is dumb, it's
because I haven't done any sound programming (on Linux or otherwise) before :)

Thanks!
