I haven't looked at the 4237B docs in a while, but I had the impression
that the synth output for the Malibu is probably connected the same way
as on the CS4237B reference design -- i.e. however the Crystal synth
would be connected.

Also, if this helps, when I use OSS and xmixer, the wavetable synth is
controlled by the same volume control as the FM synth.
