sorry, i had upgraded the rpm of the backup kernel and that messed up
some stuff, so i recompiled kernel and i could compile alsa again.

unfortunately, it still won't work.

/var/log/messages says

Sep 11 00:42:32 localhost kernel: snd: CS4236+ soundcard #1 not found at
0x534 or device busy
Sep 11 00:42:32 localhost kernel: snd: CS4236+ soundcard #2 not found or
device busy
Sep 11 00:42:47 localhost kernel: snd: CS4236+ soundcard #1 not found at
0x534 or device busy
Sep 11 00:42:47 localhost kernel: snd: CS4236+ soundcard #2 not found or
device busy

even though i got cs4232 support(i have a cs4237) when i compiled IN
kernel, but if i compiled it as a module, it would never work. do you
think that has anything to do with this?
yes, i use other modules, so it's not just that modules don't work.

I tried both 534 and 530, neither found my card:(
