The manuals for the Asahi Kasei codecs are on the ALSA ftp site
(ftp://alsa.jcu.cz/pub/manuals/asahi_kasei). It seems that record by
output mute should work. If you have got another AC'97 codec, please, try
get some datasheet from an appropriate vendor and verify, if this function
is supported.
