Hello Batman and All Others,

such a message became i, when loading the sb module from the kernel
sound
driver on Linux-2.2.2 quite 2 hours ago. I did look at it, i tried
again,
had a look at the kernel sources (init_module of sb_card.c) and did not
know,
what this beast shall be. Then i had a look at /var/log/messages and
found a
message like "io, irq, dma are mandatory". This call to printk i had
just seen
in the sources. Then i placed an option line with suitable values into
/etc/conf.modules so that modprobe can give these values to the module
sb.o
and had the job done.

What's to say, is: Sometimes look at /var/log/messages.

Bye Emil.
