I wrote a patch for OSS sequencer emulation.  It allows you to use
OSS sequencer controls via /dev/sequencer.
The patch is found at:

Please be aware that these programs are still development release.

The patch is only against the CVS snapshot version of ALSA drivers
(not public 0.3.0-pre4).  You'll need to download the source from ALSA
web page via CVS (or from CVS export).
You need only alsa-ossseq-0.1.1.diff patch if you don't use Emu8000
driver, but you'll need to load snd-ossseq.o manually instead.
