Not necessarily. In debian GNU/Linux systems /usr/include/linux,
/usr/include/asm and /usr/include/scsi are not links to the kernel source
tree but real directories. There are technical reasons for this choice
that can be found in debian docs and I will not post them here. If you
need to use the very latest includes in a debian system, you can simply
put -I/usr/src/linux/include in your compile options. I think alsa sources
actually do this, as I never had any problems compiling them, even if I do
have a debian system.
	In all other linux installations I know, the posting above is
correct and /usr/include/linux etc. are indeed symlinks to the include
files in the source tree. Please correct me if I'm wrong...
