Hi,

I am using alsa 0.30-pre3 with a Ensoniq 1371 AudioPCI card, it seems that sound
volume control is quite unpredictable: sometimes it is ok, sometimes it is
bearly hearable. Manually adjust "amixer Master 100 unmute" and "amixer PCM 100
unmute" sometimes help, but not always.

I wonder what the problem could be? what is usual set up? I usually use
"modprobe snd-audiopci" and "modprobe snd-oss-pcm1" to start, should I do
something in /etc/conf.modules, I don't see how and why? (bear with me if it
sounds not right...)

Thanks

/Feiyi
