Thanks but nothing change here, I can't believe that
with OSS/Free everything works fine :((( and now after
*two* days and *zillion* of conf.madules and isapnp.conf
nothing !

Here some logs with isapnp and debug=detect:

snd: isapnp WSS: wss port=0x534, fm port=0x388, sb port=0x220
snd: isapnp WSS: irq=5, dma1=1, dma2=0
snd: isapnp GAME: joystick port=0x200
snd: isapnp CTRL: control port=0x120
snd: isapnp MPU: port=0x330, irq=9
snd: CS4231: VERSION (I25) = 0x83
snd: cs4231: unknown CS chip with version 0x83
snd: CS4236+ soundcard #1 not found at 0x534 or device busy
snd: CS4236+ soundcard #2 not found or device busy

snd: isapnp WSS: wss port=0x534, fm port=0x388, sb port=0x220

snd: CS4236+ soundcard #1 not found at 0x534 or device busy
snd: CS4236+ soundcard #2 not found or device busy

Note (1) that putting "snd_mpu_port=-1" result in a brutal "oops" :((

Note (2) , I've also read this inside the working OSSFree/cs4232.c :

 * This version of the driver doesn't use the PnP method when configuring
 * the card but a simplified method defined by Crystal. This means that
 * just one CS4232 compatible device can exist on the system. Also this
 * method conflicts with possible PnP support in the OS. For this reason
 * driver is just a temporary kludge.
 *
 * Also the Cirrus/Crystal method doesnt always work. Try ISA PnP first ;)

What about "snd: cs4231: unknown CS chip with version 0x83" ??
Please help me , I *want* switch to Alsa !
