modprobe snd-audiopci

    You don't have to do anything with /etc/conf.modules if you are using
modprobe.  I would recommend viewing the mini HOWTO on the ALSA page.  I
found it to be quite helpful.  It gives good step by step instructions that
I found to be a little more detailed than what comes with the download.
