Yaaay! I've been using alsa for a while now, because of it's better OSS
emulation for audio/visual (no more unsync'ed sound and video!) but have
really missed the MIDI support for my Ultrasounds.

Three things, though.

1) On the cut scenes for QuakeII for Linux, the sound is VERY choppy
still. This as been a problem every since the Ultra drivers. Works fine
for gameplay. Annoying and low priority, but OSS compatibility, you
know... :)

2) Could you look at the vibrato (or tremelo, I'm not sure which)
emulation code on the Ultrasound Classic when you do the porting of the
MIDI/synth code? I KNOW there is a type of a "one-off" bug that just
drives me nuts when playing MIDI files on my Classic. I reported this
one several times. I am willing to do anything I can to get this fixed,
but, alas, I'm not a coder.

3) I'm having a lot of problems with .wav files. I used to be able to
cat them to /dev/dsp and they would play at the correct speed. Also
aplay is having problems with some .wav files and plays them at 8000Khz
(real slow). Is this to be expected? Also, playing .au files isn't
working very well....

Keep up the good work,

jf
