Hello,
Everything appears to work ok on my system except for midi
playback. I even have system sounds working in KDE. I can use the KDE
media player to play sound files now thanks to everyone's help. The
only thing that doesn't appear to work at this point is my midi, and
maybe my mic, but one thing at a time :-). When I try to use the
Midi/Karaoke player that comes with KDE, the following message appears
in /var/log/messages:
    modprobe: can't locate module snd-minor-oss-1

Is there another module I need to load for OSS emulation besides
snd-pcm1-oss? I am running RH5.1, Kernel 2.0.34 with an Ensoniq
AudioPCI ES1370 (Gateway special). I also tried to use aplay to play a
midi file and all I got was noise. This could be normal because I'm not
even sure if aplay can play midi files. Let me know.

Thanks for your continuous help everyone,
Steve
