I'm running RH5.1 with 2.0.34 kernel with alsa 3.0pre3. I can play
music CD's with alsa and wav files with the aplay utility included with
the alsa-utils package. How can I make use of ALSA for KDE system
sounds and other applications like the media player included with KDE?
I saw mention of an OSS-emulation mode, is that what I need to use? Any
help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks for your help in advance,
Steve

P.S. I have an Ensoniq AudioPCI sound card (not sure whether it's an
ES1370 or ES1371, it's a gateway special)
