nope, it shouldn't matter...  i have successfully used alsa with k2.0.34,
k2.0.35, k2.0.36, k2.2.0, and k2.2.1...  try out that alsaconf...  also, i just
remembered that i had to manually make a dir in /lib/modules/<kernel> named misc,
otherwise it wouldn't work...  maybe that is the problem...  create a dir called
/lib/modules/<kernel ver>/misc ...  this is where the .o files from alsa are
installed...
