Ok, thanks to evey one who replied so far.
	I now aplay playing wavs but only if I connect my speakers to speaker
port, rather than the line out, ( preferred port because they are powered
speakers not passive ) That solved that problem. 
	Next little gem, I try to open the KDE Mixer applet and it says can't
open mixer check permissions ar set to ... I 've checked and they are. Kmedia
player won't play wavs and Kcontrolpanel says that there is no sound system.
	Any KDE users on this list solved this little gem.
I apreciatte any help I can get.
