Have a look in /etc/asond.conf, you might have to toggle the Mic gain or the
Mic Impeedance. If your Microphone is condenser in type, you might
 have to set the gain and the impeedence.  Change Mic Impeedance is the option
I believe can't remember. As far as I have found the MIcrophone input on my
sb64 card (1370 based) sucked rather badly, best boost and feed in line-level
