I finally kicked 0.3.0-pre3 into installing on my Linux 2.2.1 (Debian 2.1)
system. When I try to insmod snd-audiodrive1869.o, it prints the
following message (in function snd_audiodrive_probe() from
cards/audiodrive1869.c)

  printk("ES1869: midi isn't working!!!\n");

Is this a message to me, that my card is configured incorrectly and MIDI
therefore won't work, or a developers' warning that MIDI support is
currently broken on the ES1869?

My ES1869 is configured with the defaults via PnP; in particular the
MPU401 base address is 0x330.

Can you help me out with this? I'm working on a MIDI editor/sequencer app
and would really like to be able to use ALSA rather than OSS.

thanks & peace,
