Well, I just managed to download and install the new Linux 2.2.0 kernel,
which includes (among other things) builtin support for my Soundblaster PCI
128 card. However, after hearing the sound quality from the kernel driver
-- nasty! -- I quickly installed ALSA again for the new kernel. *ahh*...
much better. :-)

Good job, ALSA people!
