Hi!

I have a Compaq machine with a built in, non ISA-PnP ES1869 sound
card. This works OK with OSS. But alas, no full duplex mode is
available.

So I tried ALSA 0.3.0-pre2 with the 2.2.0-pre8 kernel and it does not
work very well: The mixer and the recording works, but the playing
does not:

It seems that writing to the device blocks forever. Sometimes it gives
I/O error instead. I turned on debugging but nothing interesting could
be seen in the syslog files.

Here's my configuration as reported by 'cat /proc/asound/cards':

0 [card1 ]: AudioDrive - ESS AudioDrive ES1869
                     ESS AudioDrive ES1869 at 0x220, irq 5, dma1 1, dma2 0

These setting are correct (used by windows as well).

Could I be of any help with finding the solution?

Miklos
