Hi,

I have an old noname Soundcard with the ESS 688 chip. This card has
worked very fine with the kernel sound drivers. It is 100% SoundBlaster
Pro compatible. When I use the snd-sb8 driver, I can't play 16 bit
wav-files. :-( It plays 16 bit wav-files with the kernel drivers. And
the snd-audiodrive-ess1688(?) produces a kernel oops. So what's wrong?

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. ;-)
