Hello everybody !

Im using ALSA v.0.3.0pre2 with a Soundblaster PCI 64. I have most of
the stuff working by now, except for MIDI/sequencer support.
The OSS-Compatibility module is running nicely.

I have tried to run
  ./configure --with-sequencer=yes
but the output tells me
  "checking for sequencer support: no".
Any clues ?

I have tried to cat some MIDI-files to all possible devices, and no
output. Does this work at all ?
The ALSA-to-OSS device mapping in the INSTALL file doesnt mention MIDI
devices, but the ALSA page says that raw MIDI support is already
implemented.

Someone in this group stated the card doesnt have a hardware MIDI
synth, but AFAIK there *is* one for the first 64 voices, and only then a
software synth takes over.
Unfortunately, I have a bulkware card w/o docs.

I would be very happy if some sound gurus out there could help out with
a hint or two.

By the way, the SB PCI64 is something Id recommend. Its dead cheap
(under 50 Deutsche Mark) and sounds really nice. Ive done some
primitive HD-recording, and the converters seem to be quite usable. It
even comes with full-duplex. Mic input stinks, however. Go for an
outboard preamp.
Still Im planning to get a card thats more up to studio specs with a
S/PDIF or AES/EBU digital I/O. Does anybody have recommandations on this
?

Thanks.

Regards, Jo"rn
