Hello everybody !

I have a SB PCI64 with ALSA v. 0.3.0pre2.

When I run
# alsactl store,
it writes the mixer settings correctly to /etc/asound.conf.
However, the joystick setting gets wrecked:
control{
   switch( "Joystick", false )
   switch( "Joystick address", 512 )
}                              ^^^<-----
When I do
# alsactl restore,
it aborts with something like "Address out of range", sets all mixer
channels to zero and mutes them.

I worked around this by editing the value to 0 and disabling "alsactl
store" in the alsasound script. Still aborts with an error, but the
mixer is set correctly.

Has anyone observed this, too ?
Before I send a bug report, I just want to make sure...
Nothing grave, anyway.
I wonder if the ALSA folks follow this group ?

By the way, how do I enable the game port ?
"cat" something to /proc/asound/dev/control0, I guess, but what ?

TIA, Happy New Year,

Jo"rn
