Have you tried a different compression scheme? I know this happens here as
well when using one compression method.

It works for me, although I have problem with the full duplex mode (my GUS
seems to record the data it plays back as well as the microphone sound. So
my partner at the other end hears an echo of himself. But I think this is
a GUS issue.)

In the Makefile I had to use -DAUDIO_BLOCKING to get it working.
