I just updated alsa source from CVS as of Fri Dec 11 05:55:20 UTC 1998
I get the following error when using your alsasound init script
I used this script before and there were no problems (debian slink system)

Starting sound driver: snd-sbawe snd: Sound Blaster 16 soundcard #1 not found or device busy
/lib/modules/2.1.131/misc/snd-sbawe.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
snd: Device or resource busy
done

I have a SB AWE64 PnP, am I using the wrong module, or is there something else that is wrong?

also, if I try and play with /proc/isapnp, I get bad PnP Id no matter what I use

If you need any more info other than that shown below, I'll be glad to mail it also.
