Hello all,

I'm new on this list, attracted by the idea of a better sound system for
Linux. Together with a friend on mine, we have added reasonably proper
sound support for the CMI8330 based soundcards using OSS. (Such as the
Sound Pro HT 1869+ cards).

These cards are very cheap, one chip, SB16 and WSS2.0 compatible cards
that have digital S/PDIF input and output (44.1 kHz, 16 bit only) onboard,
by means of jumper headers. (Much like the SB Live Value, but a factor 10
cheaper).

I currently do now have the time to develop for ALSA, as I'm involved in
too much projects currently. I may be able to help by other means
(give away cards for developers, test and provide the OSS source
adaptions).

I would like to know whether support for the CMI chipset is planned and/or
developed for ALSA already?
