Hi all,

It's been a while since I've done some serious work on the AlsaPlayer source
code so I thought I'd make a release of what is done right now and try to get
some external bug reporting again to
get the ball rolling. Spare time has gone into DVD movie watching (I can really
recommend the Hollywood+ decoder card, works only in Windoze for now though. Any
pointers to el cheapo AC-3 amps welcome! :). Anyway, here is what's on the ftp
site:

ftp://orbital.xs4all.nl/pub/alsa:

AlsaPlayer-shared.bz2
Dynamically linked executable of the current source code. This one is linked to
GTK+ from the GNOME CVS repository so only get it if you use CVS GNOME!

AlsaPlayer-static.bz2
Statically linked, should work on all machines with the latest ALSA drivers
installed

AlsaPlayer-0.0.1.tar.bz2
The current source tree. A real mess, no docs on how to compile. It's for the
curious (and the paranoid) only at this time. I need to do some more abstraction
on the various subsystems, mainly the scope code and the MpegFilter class. Just
type make in the root and it should compile and link for you. If it doesn't work
drop me a line...

Usage: still one shot only

AlsaPlayer some.mp3

Changes since the last alpha:
- New scope: Levelmeter, 16-bit implementation only for now (so you need to run
X in 16-bit depth mode to see it)
- Implemented software volume panning
- GUI interface changes (hopefully for the better)
- Volume and pitch scale display their values when activated
- Code cleanups

Comments and suggestion to arloafoe@cs.vu.nl. It will kick ass when it's
finished, promis! :)
