Over this weekend I took out my AWE32 and put in another slot. Windows
doesn't seem to mind, but the card now doesn't seem to work with Linux--the
mixer is clearly connecting as the hiss goes up and down with the volume
controls, but digital audio playback produces nothing. Most odd. Windows
doesn't seem to have any problems. Any initial ideas? I'm not running the
most up-to-date driver so I'll try that next--I've tried reinstalling my
old one.

The reason for the card move was the replacement of my TB Fiji with an
Event Gina. Is this card is a bit too obscure for interest from other ALSA
folk? It's a PCI bus mastering card and there's a 66MIPS Motorola 56301 on
board if that helps. It would be really really nice for me if this card
could be got to work with Linux as I'm building an Ambisonic (8-channel)
speaker rig--otherwise I'll have to work in Windoze, which is not a Good
Thing as far as I'm concerned. I'm going to make a few enquiries with Echo
about drivers in case they'd be prepared to help.

Thanks,

-- Richard
