I don't know about realaudio, but the realvideo player, which adds video
support, uses /dev/dsp not /dev/audio.  If it was using /dev/audio I would
be set, as sometimes, for no reason I can tell yet, /dev/dsp decides to
give me static instead of what it should be playing.  /dev/audio always
works.

Check with, `strace -e open rvplayer file.ram`
