Currently that's not possible. But I think Jaroslav has mentioned
something like this a few days ago, but I think it was specific to GUS
cards only. Ideally programs would use the (yet-to-be-implemented) ALSA
library interface which could take care of this "stream mixing"
internally.

Most apps that come with source should be 'ported' to the new interface
while the multiple /dev/dsp solution could be used to support closed
source programs (RealAuudio, etc).
