I think that I better understand the timer interface now and I've modified
the timer to suit.


It does mean though that you won't get the full benifit of the higher
resolution unless you increase global_resolution_timer in seq_timer.c.
It could probably be optimised to reduce its frequency if no-one is
using the full resolution.

It is completely stand along and does not patch anything, but you must
have the latest CVS, as a necessary fix went in yesterday.  It tidies
up better than before and if you have used the old version you will
probably have to re-boot to be able to insmod the new version.
