The current redhat (5.2) only ships w/ egcs-1.0.3. You may
check on updates.redhat.com. Other than that you may be stuck w/
building it. There is some good info at:

You can install egcs and still keep gcc2.7.x around. Which is
probably a good idea if you're running a 2.0.xx kernel.
