I've only just become aware of this problem where, when I modprobe -r to
remove the ALSA modules, I get the following message:

snd: malloc done - trouble
Memory allocation table:
  1024: 0x0409b000 [00016539] = 4096 (internal)
Memory allocation table (internal):
  page at 0x409b000:
    0000: 0x0409b104 = 2848 (free)
    0001: 0x0409bc24 = 132 (allocated)
    0002: 0x0409bca8 = 20 (allocated)
    0003: 0x0409bcbc = 504 (free)
    0004: 0x0409beb4 = 8 (allocated)
    sum : size = 3836, used = 160, free = 3352, unused = 324
    total: blocks = 5, used = 160, recomended block allocation = 128

I'm using alsa-driver-0.3.0-pre3, kernel 2.0.36, SoundBlaster 2.01

I have been making trivial changes to the drivers, but nothing that
would affect memory allocation. Is this anything to worry about?
