Hi there, list.

Firstly, I want to say thanks to all those who have been putting in
great effort on the whole ALSA project. I think you are all on the
right course in developing a new cleaner approach to sound systems under
linux, and also with a true community-oriented linux-like approach.

I have several machines here in my office that use the CS4235 chipset.
These come standard on most Intel(not clone) motherboards with on-board
audio these days, so I'm sure that there will probably be more demand to
get them supported.

I've tried to use the current cs4236 driver, and of course I get the
message "snd: CS4235 chip isn't fully supported yet (code isn't tested)..."
I also don't get any working sound as far as I can tell. One other
notable thing is that I get is:

"snd: warning: can't allocate IRQ for MPU401, midi port is disabled"

I'm actually most interested in just getting the PCM section working,
so, I don't really care if the MPU port isn't working anyways.

I'm not sure who is working on the cs423x drivers, and although I'd love
to, I don't have the time to do it myself, but if it would help to have
a guinea pig, I'd be able to help a bit.
