With the 2.0.36 kernel, it was putting the esssolo1.c init module failure
message in the syslog (sorry, don't have the computer close to me now)

Upgraded to 2.2.1, same message almost (not typed verbatim, sorry)

Unable to register major device 14
/lib/modules/2.2.1/misc/snd.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
snd: Device or resource busy

Any suggestions? My card is the ESS Solo 1 card distributed by
http://www.pine-tech.com/
