I write code, but I want to see where your trying to take this thing
first.

Don`t worry about Linux people not knowing, the lib doesn`t have
publicity because it isn`t in a distro cd package yet. It will get there
if it`s good enough, but right now I can`t even get the thing to
compile. Can you give me a walk-through or something here?

As soon as I get this thing to work, I`ll start helping with the code in
anyway I can. Once it`s stable, then (and only then) will we need to
port to other OSs.

I will tell you this much: in your "plan" you said something about
"instrement loading" The SBK and SF2 formats (AWE formats) require too
much. Don`t use them (even for the AWE itself!) they are VERY hard to
work with, use, program for, etc. I hope you haven`t gotten there yet. I
might like to write code for that myself ( unfortunatly ALOT of exp.
with instrement formats ;) )
